What does a foster carer do?

A foster carer is someone who looks after children who can’t be looked after by their birth families.

Foster carers provide day-to-day care for children and young people supporting their educational, health and social well being.

All foster carers receive training before being approved to foster, giving them the skills and tools to help meet the needs of a child in their care.
