Whether you are at the early stages of your journey or if you have been considering becoming a foster carer for some time, our team is on hand to help. You might want to have a quick friendly chat or get all your pressing questions answered in one go. Either way we want to hear from you!

Every day, we help individuals and families start their journey to foster and help transform the lives of our young people.

To book a call back with one of our fostering team, please book a date and time that is convenient for you using the booking calendar below. We will be on hand to explain more about fostering and also learn more about you, your experience and what you hope to get out of fostering. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions to our fostering team, who have worked with many other foster families in Rotherham. Read our current COVID-19 Safety Policy for supporting face to face visits and appointments.

Criteria to foster

In order to be invited to apply to foster for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, all applicants must:
 

  • Be aged over 21

  • Read, write and speak English well

  • Have a spare bedroom for a foster child to stay in 

  • Live within 20 miles of the Rotherham boundary, to help you attend meetings and get involved in our community

If you are an existing Rotherham foster carer, or somebody who works for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, you can earn up to £500 by referring a foster carer.
